Steve Martin

Stephen Glenn Martin, born in Waco, Texas, on August 14, 1945, is one of America's most versatile entertainers. He first rose to public notice in 1969 as a writer for "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour," winning a Primetime Emmy Award. During the 1970s, he became a massive comedy star, performing his offbeat, absurdist stand-up routines to sold-out crowds across the country. In addition to his stage success, Martin became a frequent host of "Saturday Night Live" and released hit comedy albums like "Let's Get Small" and "A Wild and Crazy Guy."
